Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!

This letter was put out to explain to existing customers how the seven day delivery would work.

Good morning!

We wanted to let you know about a few changes. First, Laura has returned to work full-time, so David has resumed delivery of your Detroit Free Press or Detroit News. Laura has always tried to provide you with exceptional service, and now David will continue that same great service. But if you do experience any issues with your issue, please give us a call. We will resolve it quickly.

Also, you may or may not have heard that Detroit Media Partnership is now offering 7 day delivery once again in select areas. Delivery of the paper Monday through Wednesday and Saturday would be billed (and delivered) by David. The Thursday, Friday and Sunday papers would also be delivered by David, but you would be billed for those days by Detroit Media Partnership, just as you are now. David is considered an independent carrier for the 4 days, which is why you would be billed directly by him for those days. If you are interested:

 Call David at the number below (or if you prefer, send an e-mail with your name, address and phone number to the e-mail below) to let him know you would like to begin receiving the paper Monday through Wednesday and Saturday (we expect the paper would still be delivered by 6AM, just as it is now).
 Because we have to pay for the papers up front, we would request that you forward a check for $21.60 to our home address payable to David before we begin the 4 day delivery. This would include payment for a month at a time (4 days @ $1.35 per day = $5.40 per week x 4 weeks = $21.60).
 We can provide you with a News or Free Press mailbox tube for delivery if you would like to have your paper delivered to your mailbox. The paper provides these tubes for you and it is a great way to keep your paper in good condition until you are ready for it. As you may or may not know, we are delivering papers between the hours of 2:30 and 5:30am (for the most part) in the morning.

We will begin this service as soon as possible (hopefully by Sept 1st). If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to call or email David.

And, as always, while tips are not expected they are most appreciated. We work hard to provide you the best service possible.
